Drop Off & Collection

Dropping off your child:

We empathise and appreciate that leaving your child at preschool can be challenging, especially during the initial stages. Our team is committed to facilitating a smooth transition from home to preschool, aiming to minimise any distress and create a welcoming, safe, and secure environment for children and their families.

  • Upon arrival, parents are requested to bring their child and all belongings to the designated drop-off area. A staff member or your child's assigned key worker will be present to receive your child and ensure their safety and well-being throughout their time at preschool.

  • To maintain accurate attendance records, our staff will sign the children in on the daily register, which is kept in our attendance folder. The Preschool Manager or Deputy will collect and compile the number of children attending each session.

  • We encourage parents to communicate any necessary information about their child, such as injuries, medication, or concerns related to their well-being. This ensures that we are fully informed and can provide appropriate care and support.

  • It is vital to emphasise that no child should be left unaccompanied at the beginning of their session under any circumstances. We prioritise the safety and well-being of every child, and our staff will be present to receive and welcome them upon arrival.

Collection:

All parents must complete a registration form before their child starts preschool. This form includes emergency contact details, information about authorised persons permitted to collect the child, and designated passwords for collection.

Parents must notify the preschool in advance if someone other than the authorised persons listed on the registration form will be collecting their child. A description of the person and the password should be provided for identification purposes.

Upon collection, the staff will ensure that all children are signed out of the register as they leave the preschool building. If a child is not collected at the designated time, the manager or deputy will make every effort to contact the parents listed on the registration form. The child's well-being and comfort will be prioritised during this time. Additionally, we will contact the emergency contacts provided on the registration form.

If, despite our efforts, we are unable to arrange for the child to be collected and it becomes very late, we will contact the Local Children's Services to ensure the child's safety and well-being.

We kindly request that you inform us in advance if your child will be picked up early, as we may be engaged in outings or planned activities. This allows us to make appropriate arrangements and ensure a smooth transition for your child.
